The best way to practice earth is to go out onto the ground and setup the practice area there. Feeling the earth in your hands. Reaching down and connecting to the element of earth. Feel it as an extension of yourself. Feel the heavyness of it. The weight, depth and wide reach of earth. Then go deeper, feeling what the earth feels itself.
You will feel slow, groggy and be getting a lot of information to process. Information such as vibrations, growth, various movements. It of course may take some time to achieve this for more than a few seconds or at all. Practice makes perfect after all.
Another simple practice is to get some dirt and bring it inside, put it in your hands, exploring it as you close your eyes and simply feeling it. Although its not connected to the earth as a whole this can help you prepare and get used to the feel of earth for when you actually go outside and try the other exercise
