Two months ago i was added to the VVC. I have not posted or wrote terribly much since then. I have done a lot of thinking and reflecting on myself, the community, my writing and other things. I do actually take things and such positions very seriously. Which left me thinking who am I and how will I represent it and myself in the public eye?
What and how is my stuff helping the community as a whole, and is it helping me grow as well? What can I personally do to do better for the community and myself?
Some of the thinking did get some help listening to a certain episode/scene sequence from Daredevil season 2 and more recently a quote from a show I was watching that I think sums it up nicely:
“Its not about what they do, it is about how we respond to it”
I think that is a powerful sentence and question and can be used and applied very much so to the current VC, not just to myself. We have plenty of trolls and drama starters, but if we think on how we respond to it, and them, perhaps it would improve greatly. As of this writing the VC is decently quiet with little drama in the public eye. Perhaps we should focus more on making it “louder” with great and deep discussion when the drama is not present. Maybe then we would send a message.
Personally I am still thinking and reflecting over things and figuring some stuff out. I look forward to putting out some new stuff for you all to read very soon as well. 😉
